Head of Performance, Let’s Think® Music & Co-Founder

Liz is a well-known professional oboist and teacher. Working professionally when a student at Cambridge University reading Natural Science, whilst also an Instrumental Scholar, she then studied at the GSMD and began a busy career both internationally and at home.

Liz’s first appointment was as principal oboe with Scottish Opera before returning to London. She was a member of the Royal Opera House Orchestra for 10 years, during the Bernard Haitink golden era.

Having always taught throughout her career, Liz was delighted to be appointed as Oboe Specialist at Wells Cathedral Music School, one of the government’s supported specialist music schools in the UK. She has always been passionate about engaging each of her students in a personal way, seeking new ways to motivate them and maintain and develop their love of music for life. Involved in many aspects of education, she also enjoys adjudicating and coaching for the National Children’s Orchestra, and particularly enjoys watching her students follow their musical journeys.
